Web Mail/Admin Server

The Web Mail server is a web server which can be used to allow people to access their VPOP3 mailboxes and configure some of their personal settings using a web browser. It also provides the main administration user interface for configuration of VPOP3 by administrators.

Logging On

1. In the web browser, tell it to go to:

http://<IP address of VPOP3 server>:5108/

eg:

http://192.168.1.1:5108/

(assuming you haven't changed the port assignment on the Services page.)

Note that the VPOP3 WebMail & Web Administration interface requires both cookies and Javascript to be enabled. If you are using a personal firewall (eg ZoneAlarm) then check that this is not blocking cookies, Javascript or some HTTP header fields such as 'Referer'

2. The web browser will ask you for a username and password - enter the VPOP3 mailbox name and password.

"Access Panel"

Once you are logged on, VPOP3 will show you the main index for the logged in user

Some of these buttons may not be available, depending on the user's capabilities. For instance, the Administer button is only available if the logged in user is a VPOP3 administrator An Administrator is a VPOP3 user who is allowed to change VPOP3 settings, add/remove users, view queued messages etc..
