VPOP3 Enterprise Email Server for Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP
Overview
VPOP3 Enterprise is based on the standard VPOP3 email server, but it has several new features for larger and more
demanding businesses:
- Powerful IMAP4 support, allowing shared message folders and hot-desking
- ODBC connectivity to link your corporate contact database into the VPOP3 Global Address Book
- ODBC connectivity to obtain mailing list information from your corporate contact database to allow
live updating of mailing list members.
- Running multiple VPOP3 servers on one PC for better multi-domain support
- Realtime-Blackholing to help filter out incoming SPAM when receiving mail using SMTP directly to
VPOP3 Enterprise without going through your ISP's server (when the DNS MX records point directly at VPOP3).
- VPOP3 Plugins Pack
- More 'enterprise' features will be added in the future
Server Requirements
Because IMAP4 means that messages are stored and manipulated on the server instead of the client, this means that a
VPOP3 Enterprise server needs to have much more disk space than a standard VPOP3 server, and may need to be more powerful as well. For instance
a 25 user VPOP3 Enterprise server may need to have up to 2.5GB of disk space (for each user to have 100MB of mailbox space) and
be a Pentium 166 with 32MB RAM (as opposed to a 486-66 with 16MB RAM and 100MB disk space for standard VPOP3).
